Are War Thunder custom cosmetics worth exploring, or do most players stick with defaults?

How much time do you spend customizing your vehicles?

I usually leave the default appearance alone, but I've seen community screenshots with some really creative designs.

I'm curious which options are actually worth exploring and which ones are only visible locally. I'd rather understand how the system works before downloading anything.

Overview: War Thunder customization options, exploring community-made skins, and available cosmetic content.

Officially supported cosmetics are the simplest place to start if you want to know what the game supports.

Local user skins can be fun for screenshots and personal customization, but visibility depends on the feature. Don't assume everyone sees what you installed.

I spend longer picking a camouflage than I do deciding which vehicle to use. Terrible priorities, honestly.

Nothing wrong with that. Customization is part of the fun for some people.

Just be careful with downloads. Stick to trusted sources and follow the supported installation instructions.

And check whether a cosmetic is local, officially available, or tied to a particular account or marketplace feature before assuming it works the same way.
